Every child learns differently—there’s no one-size-fits-all approach, especially for children
with special education needs. Hence, Axon Therapeutic Preschool (ATP) is designed to support individual learning styles, guided by qualified teachers. With a strong focus on independence and successful school transitions, we ensure that every child is prepared for their next step. Our school programme welcomes
children aged 3 to 8 years old.
We recognise that preschool experience is crucial for fostering a happy childhood, providing
essential opportunities for making friends, collaborating, sharing, and engaging in
together play. Hence, we curate a programme where childhood is not compromised, while still
ensuring that children with special needs receive the support they need. Here’s how we do it:
The Finnish early childhood education is world-famous for a reason. In addition to teaching academic skills, this curriculum encourages children to learn through interaction with the people and environment around them. Learning through play can foster engagement with multiple brain areas, leading to strenghtened motor skills and more.
We train our teachers to be playful, curious, critical, and respectful in their work.
They take responsibility for their own learning and support each child's development. With the Toolkit Curriculum, teachers follow structured yearly, monthly, and daily plans while having the flexibility to adapt. Teachers also document progress, evaluate learning, and continuously improve their practice as professionals.
Backed by 40+ years of scientifically valid research, the AEPS-3 toolkit helps us understand your child's learning style, allowing us to recommend a tailored plan that'll enhance their motivation to learn, and help you get a full picture of their progress.

A low teacher-child ratio ensures every child receives the attention, guidance, and support they need. This allows teachers to personalise learning, foster meaningful interactions, and closely track progress—enhancing both teaching quality and child development.
Teachers strive to always learn, cooperate and adapt to changing situations and teach children how to do the same.
. We are a special education preschool, aiming to help parents with preparing their children for school.
. The Axon Therapeutic Preschool programme in particular is best for children with special needs such as autism, Down Syndrome, dyslexia, ADHD, learning disabilties, speech delay, language impairment, and behaviour problems.
. Autistic children are often visual learners, and they typically enjoy hands-on activities.
. But at the end of the day, there's no one-size-fits-all solution as every child is different. This is why our curriculum places an emphasis on the importance of an individualised education plan. This allows us to cater to every child's unique needs, while providing a safe, supportive, and respectful learning environment for them.
We use the AEPS-3 toolkit which basically stands for Assessment, Evaluation, and Programming System for Infants and Children, Third Edition. Considered as most powerful assessment and curriculum system for ensuring real progress for every young child, this toolkit is backed by more than 40 years of studies, led by early intervention visionary Dr. Diane Bricker and the Early Intervention Management and Research Group (EMRG).
. The HEI Schools concept is inspired by Finnish Early Childhood Education, where it encourages children to be curious and creative as they interact and explore the world around them.
. Children are also invited to participate and make their own decisions in an environment that goes beyond the classroom.
. This in turn, contribute to their overall development as they learn skills such as socio-emotional competence, verbal and bodily expression, and more, which are essential skills to learn as your child prepare for school.
. In short, the HEI Schools curriculum actually addresses all aspects of a child’s growth, and not just their academic advancements.
Yes. ATP is an educational programme, ensuring every child’s right to learn, while therapy is a clinical intervention addressing specific developmental needs. If your child receives both services at Axon, everything is under one roof, minimising travel time and ensuring collaborative support between educators and therapists for a more seamless intervention.
